What is contingency recruiting?

Contingency recruiting is when a recruiter or agency is engaged for a search, but only paid a fee if they successfully place a candidate in the job – as opposed to retained recruiting, where upfront and/or guaranteed fees are required regardless of outcome of the search. Contingency recruiting is often used by businesses that do not have the resources to hire an internal recruiter, or larger businesses that need external help in addition to internal recruiting efforts.

What are the benefits of contingency recruiting?

It can save businesses time and money. Recruiters have access to a large pool of candidates and can quickly identify qualified and interested applicants. Second, contingency recruiters have expertise in the search process and can help businesses find the right candidates for their open positions. Third, contingency recruiters are motivated to find qualified candidates because they are only paid if they are successful.

Can I still interview my own candidates?

Yes, you can! Our contingency recruiting is non-exclusive, so you can feel free to source your own candidates even after engaging our firm. Think of us as an extra set of eyes searching for the perfect candidate for your organization.

How much are your fees?

Our placement fees are well below industry standards, which is typically 20-30% of a hire’s year one base salary. We, on the other hand, offer a flat fee model that is typically less than 10% of your hire’s starting salary. Because we utilize technology and minimize expenses, we can (and do) pass those savings on to our clients. Our flat placement fee is agreed upon before work begins, ensuring you can budget appropriately and have no surprise expenses later.

What happens if a candidate quits?

All our hires are guaranteed for 90 days. If a candidate leaves within 90 days of their start date, we will either find a replacement hire or refund your placement fee, whichever you decide. If you would like to negotiate a longer guarantee period, we are happy to do so.
